The Challenge
The website represents for The Hive Management the primary channel for promoting its agents, so one of the main concerns is maintaining constant availability of the service.
It was with this focus that our client chose to host their website using AWS cloud solutions. Despite having the support of an infrastructure support and maintenance company, the client needed a more agile and effective response capacity, which is why they made the decision to look for another partner. Through a recommendation from another client of our company, our Cloud & DevOps team was chosen to continue this project, meeting the needs of The Hive Management.
The Solution
To begin the process, an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) needed to be created, which provided the information needed to launch the instance.
As AWS partners, we carried out the process of migrating the website from the current account to a new account where the customer would become the owner and our team would be responsible for managing the infrastructure. With automation and data-driven guidance, AWS simplifies each step of the migration process, reducing the effort and complexity involved. These features help streamline migrations, accelerating value from migration. The migration process was completed with the change of DNS (Domain Name System).
Additionally, and in order to avoid constraints on the availability of your website, we implemented a monitoring and alarm system that monitors the main services, allowing our team to take quick action in intervention situations, as well as a snapshot routine.
Throughout the entire process, the team adopted a DevOps methodology, ensuring that all pillars – culture, processes, technology and quality – were properly aligned so that this project achieved the expected results.
The Hive then continued to use Devoteam services to support it’s AWS infrastructure, allowing them to focus on their core business while ensuring permanent availability of the website. The CMS service provided by Devoteam ACloud ensures a 24×7 coverage with customised monitoring and a continuously available team ready to answer any questions or incidents.
